Description
Hailing from a village of the same name 25 miles north of Arak (Sultanabad), the Sarouk may just be responsible for the resurgence of a modern age of Persian rug weaving. This region was one of the most productive for rug weaving featuring the coveted designs of Farahan, the most famous Sarouk designer. These rugs are often referred to as Farahan rugs as a tribute to the famous designer. To compete with the popularity of rugs crafted in Kashan, Farhan created a center medallion motif. Today, most of the antique Sarouks fabricated during the late 19th century are often referred to as Farahan Sarouks.

Hand-knotted Persian Sarouks are often considered the most luxurious, high-quality rugs from Arak. These rugs feature deep color palettes as represented in the scarlet and navy coloring of this collective piece. This semi-antique Sarouk faithfully explores the floral and medallion motifs reminiscent of this Persian beauty. The exquisitely detailed border featuring two specific floral motifs ensconced in geometric patterns encapsulates the grandiosity of the intricate detail with an unmistakable nod to its rich heritage. Look no further for a Persian rug that culminates tradition and style.
